New LCD
Excellent. KDS is shipping me a replacement monitor for my aging Radius S-3F which has all sorts of problems (the most recent of which involved a power cable that fell apart). The tech-support lackie I spoke to sounded as if he were talking to me on a cell phone while in a car with the windows down, tearing down the highway at 80mph. He wasn’t very helpful.
Later, I got transferred to a sales person who said my order confirmation print-out from Outpost wouldn’t be necessary (just mentioning that I had the confirmation seemed to be enough). She also said that I would likely be receiving a different monitor than the S-3F which was replaced on the product line some time ago.
The KDS website says this about their warranty:
If a product proves to suffer from defective materials or workmanship during the warranty period, KDS USA will repair or replace the entire monitor with a new or recertified monitor of equal or greater value, at KDS’ discretion.
At this point, I’m wondering how KDS determines value for their monitors. Granted my S-3F is over three years old from the date of manufacture, but I did pay over six hundred dollars for it. In today’s inventory, that would be roughly equivalent to the Rad-9p 19" LCD. I think the more likely replacement will be the 15" Rad-5 — costing less than half what I paid for my S-3F.
Oh well. I guess the fact that I’m getting a new LCD without any known problems or any significant money is the important part.
Does anyone have a pin-out for the power plug on a radius s-3f?
