On Friday, I joined nine other people from the department in the Graduate Student Kickball Tournament. We came in second, losing by one run to the Government Politics team. Prior to that, we trounced the Physics team (each game was only thirty minutes long, and our first inning got capped at ten runs to allow the other team a chance to kick), and had a huge comeback against the Drama team. Unfortunately, this performance left several of us with injuries and almost unable to walk off the field. (A great game of darts at McGuinty’s and a Guinness float at the Quarry House set me right after the game, though.)

This most recent trip to California is coming to a close, but it’s been a great trip. I spent four days in San Diego with my parents, three siblings, two brothers-in-law, four nephews and two nieces. We had a great time visiting the San Diego Wild Animal Park and Sea World, paddle boating around and watching fireworks across Mission Bay, and attending a Luau.

Just got back from a weekend of Sea Kayaking in Maine. It was cold, wet, and windy. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
