Interview, 2

The interview went well, but it’s been left in an undefined state. I had a good interview with the CTO and things look set on that end. The interview trailed off with him mentioning that I should talk with the HR contact about specifics. He then got distracted by some pressing issue and I was led to the office of the HR contact.

We talked for a few mintues and I began to get the distinct impression that I was meant to meet with her only after she and the CTO had discussed the matter. She asked me some preliminary questions, but couldn’t talk many specifics because she just didn’t know anything about the situation. One things that she did ask, was how much I was looking to make. She seemed rather taken aback by my answer (“you want that much just out of school?”). I reminded her of my four and one half years experience at Cnation, and my confidence that my work would justify the pay, but the whole situation was rather awkward

Anyway, she said she’d get back to me after she had talked with the CTO and could schedule me for a meeting with a project manager and head tech people.

Yeah, stay firm. You have the experience and are by no means a typical fresh grad. Perhaps you should emphasis that even during college for the first 2 years you were working as a full-time backend developer. Hope you get it… let me know!
