Weekend

Had a great weekend that thankfully wasn’t full of work (for a change). On Friday, Brian, Rob and I joined Cole at his place for some drinks, the second half of the Sox-Yankees game, and a viewing of Primer (Which is awesome, by the way). Every time I watch Primer, it gets better, though I think Brian, Cole and Rob had their heads tied in knots by a first viewing.

On Saturday, I joined some friends to go see Sheryl Crow perform, and Laurie David talk, at the Maryland stop of their “Stop Global Warming College Tour.” It seemed like a rather small crowd, but that meant we got to sit close. After the talk, a great (if short) performance, and a Q&A, free compact florescent light bulbs were handed out to everyone in attendance which was a nice touch.

After that, I took a ride with Brian and Dena to Silver Spring (with a stop to pick up some potting soil and a pepper plant) where we hung out until more people arrived for a last-minute party. The evening reached a climax when we decided to see Hot Fuzz which is possibly the funniest movie I have ever seen. (It’s criminal that its Rotten Tomatoes rating is only 88.)

Finally, some photos got put online from the previously mentioned kickball tournament, and here’s our team just after our third and final game:
