Kasey Chambers

Thanks to Gary for the heads up, we caught Kasey Chambers at the Celebrate Brooklyn festival last night, and it was amazing. I’m so glad I made the trip, because Kasey put on an excellent show.

Hearing her tell stories about growing up in Australia, my initial reaction to Barricades & Brickwalls makes so much more sense:

Kasey Chambers’ newest album, Barricades & Brickwalls has the most wonderful Hank Williams-esque twang in track number five, A Little Bit Lonesome.

Apparently, as a child growing up on the Nullarbor Plain, Kasey’s biggest influence was listening to her father, Bill Chambers, play Hank Williams songs. So that explains that.

She’s going to be touring the country for the rest of the month, so if she’s coming to a town near you, definitely go check her out.
