ID3, RDF, and XMMS

I think I finally have an mp3 with valid RDF in ID3. Unfortunately, no tool I’ve got will read experimental frames, so I’ll have to hold off until I can leverage some existing ID3 parsing code before I know if it worked or not. iTunes seems happy with the rest of the frames in the tag, though, which is an improvement from my previous, problematic attempts.

The next step is hijacking XMMS’ ID3 code to notice the RDF frames when a song is played (or un-paused, I suppose). This is somewhat problematic as I’m in the middle of trying to install new versions of linux on mangala, and I’m having a hell of a time getting X happy with the combination of my video card, radius LCD, and USB mouse. After that, I’m hoping that digging into the Dashboard code and making additions won’t be too painful.
