Bluetooth
Hello? Apple?
Yes, I’d like to inquire as to why my Bluetooth headset (a shiny new toy), which Panther will pair with and correctly determine as conforming to the Hands-Free and Headset profiles, does not show up as a choice of external speaker and microphone. Am I missing something?
Hello? iChat AV?
I’m getting sick of having to use the built-in microphone in my Titanium for iChat AV. It’s so close to the keyboard that my typing can overpower my voice. And don’t even think about trying to hear my speak if the laptop’s fan goes on. This is a perfect use of Bluetooth. So why doesn’t it Just Work?
Speaking of things that should Just Work regarding Bluetooth, I also want to know why tel: URIs don’t work when a Bluetooth phone is paired with my computer. The functionality for dialing already exists in Address Book, so why not include a URI scheme handler to support this? This is probably a relatively easy thing to add on as a third-party extension, but this is something that should Just Work.
Bluetooth Firmware Updater 1.0.2 + Bluetooth 1.5 + iChat AV 2.1 (Beta) Solves this issue! Just make sure you use the Bluetooth Connection Assistant to setup the headset link. If it doesn’t show ‘Headset’ as a device option, you still need to install the firmware updater and possibly bluetooth 1.5
