Ok, the Miserable Failure thing is showing up all over the place now. The fact that this google bomb was a complete success in about a month’s time, years after google bombing was first attempted, worries me. Google is the search engine these days, and the fact that it can still be gamed so easily, by a very small but hugely influential group of people is disturbing. The internet population at large likely has no idea about the miserable failure google bomb, but the search results are just as real for them as it is for those in the know. This is going to become (or maybe already is) a problem when this technique is used for political reasons that aren’t just silly name-calling schemes.
