Reflection

Perhaps there was a bit too much personal reflection going on today. First with Tim over an extended brunch and then again with the Cnation gang down at Sunset. It’s hard to disagree fundamentally with a critical self analysis, but it can be an unwelcome trip.

After social we headed to the clocktower for a bit of snooping around which turned into several hours of exploration. The clocktower building is almost completely hollow and provides lots of fun places to explore and get into trouble.

Being on the promenade was a mixed experience, but on the whole, it seems to be getting worse. The location previously occupied by Midnight Special Books looks likely to be occupied soon by a United Colors of Benetton. On a slightly more positive note the old Nana location looks like it might be in the process of becoming an Apple store.

I was just in Solvang a couple of days ago and it seems to share some parallels with the promenade in its loss of quality establishments in favor of a much more touristy vibe. This sucks.
