Saari

Donald Saari gave a great talk, and what made things even better was watching Tony get completely flustered when it became clear that Saari was familiar with Tony’s work on voting theory. Great statistic: 69% of elections can be expected to produce any outcome depending on the voting procedure used. Meaning that election results often represent not the will of the people, but instead the will of the voting system. The Borda count sounds more and more appealing, while Saari explained the inherent problems in Approval voting. Good stuff.
