Suit Over Airlines’ Web Sites Tests Bounds of ADA:
“[Southwest Airlines’ Web site is] incompatible with his screen-reader program.
“So Gumson and a Miami Beach, Fla.-based disability rights group, Access Now, filed lawsuits in U.S. District Court in Miami in June and July against Dallas-based Southwest and Dallas-based American Airlines under the Americans with Disabilities Act.”
This blows me away. The lawsuits were filed in June and July, and the Southwest site still doesn’t have ALT tags on it’s main page? What the FUCK? Litigating to avoid liability, I can understand - perhaps not agree with, but understand. But three months have elapsed, and The Right Thing has yet to be done.
People amaze me sometimes.
