CSS and New Tech

Mark says,

“So anyway, d’ya remember that argument that went something like ‘you should design with web standards and CSS because it will future-proof your site for the pie-in-the-sky future when people surf the web on mobile devices’? Well, it’s crap.”

The link points to a rant by Anil Dash in which he complains about the T-Mobile Sidekick, and its lack of support for CSS:

“But you apparently took it upon yourselves to write software to specifically fuck up my website’s display on your device. Do you hate me specifically, or just the internet in general?

“[Y]ou failed. And you’ve ruined all the good street marketing that you could’ve easily gained by winning my favor. I’m a trend-setter, goddammit! I’m an Early Adopter. I’m a Young Literati Hispanic Mix! You need me.”

Indeed.
