Drugs and Porn

Two views:

In Hey, hey it’s Swedish Saturday porn, Teres Kirpikli, a Christian Democratic Party candidate [for a seat in Sweden’s parliament], says pornography is the best way to get couples to have more sex and procreate:

“[Kirpikli] has called for pornography to be broadcast on television all-day every Saturday to help boost the population, and thereby the economy.”

And over at the Guardian, Mo Mowlam, who was a member of Tony Blair’s cabinet from 1997-2001 suggests legalizing drugs to deter terrorism:

“May I suggest that rather than bombing civilians in various Muslim countries, the United States and Britain begin to take a more intelligent approach to the international drugs trade: namely, to legalise it. For by doing this, not only will we help solve one of the major problems facing the world today, the unregulated growth of drugs trafficking, but it would also further isolate the terrorists.”
