Summer

Ah, aloe - the smell of sunburns, and the return of summer. Today I went biking with Tim on the beach, down past the Hyperion plant in El Segundo, and back. We stopped at this diner on Main Street for lunch when we got back to Venice, and my omelette and biscuit were very tasty. Good service too. So now I’m in pain :)

For the past hour, I’ve been trying to get google to tell me where I can find a copy of the coolest animation I ever saw, but it seems to be completely oblivious. I got a copy of said animation when I was at Cnation (then CyberNation) around 1998. The animation was of a toy penguin that slid downhill along a plastic track until it reached the bottom, at which point it climbed a set of stairs and did it again … until it got tired of that, and jumped off the track, only to get stuck in the middle of the table (trust me - it was hilarious). A while back, Srithip asked me if I still had it, and I had to admit that I didn’t. The only clue as to where it came from was that I found it linked from an ftp site with the winners of a demo party (animation compo I’d guess). Neither Assembly, nor The Gathering seems to be the party in question, alas. You’d think with their ten thousand computers, Google would be a little bit more helpful!
