A Long Day
Matt and Kim were perfect. I was fighting back tears for the duration of the service. Everyone seems to have had a wonderful time. It was slightly upsetting that the reception location in Malibu was overcast, robbing us of what I’m sure would have been a magnificent sunset. Nevertheless, it was an enormously emotional and happy day - one which I hope will bring Kim and Matt fond memories for years to come.
Unfortunately, as the evening progressed, and I had done enough mingling to be alone for a while, I started falling into an obscenely introspective funk. Every so often, I really find it sad to watch family and friends get drunk at events which seem to be cheapened by their inebriation. I watched people for a good long while, and it’s depressing what we’ve come to as a society - traditions which we practice exist as hollow shells, lacking any trace of their original meaning. Also, the demeanor of my generation shocks me. I fear for the future, and hope my observations on the matter have been skewed.
Oh, and here’s the link to the (few) pictures I put up.
