I went to sleep with three Godspeed albums in the playlist and woke with a start two hours later certain I was dying. Dying right then and there; The trip to the bathroom was only prolonging the inevitable, since the minute I lay back down, I was surely going to die.

I’ve been listening to Godspeed every night since, hoping to evoke similar effects. Nothing quite as drastic as that first night has come, but the music is seeping into my daily life and affecting me.

Metaphorically speaking? Or was it the music alone that really had this affect on/over you? If so we may want to write the RIAA and get a new censorship label made.

If you mean the dying part, then no, not metaphorically speaking. If you mean the “seeping” part, then yes. Although I suppose you could construe the music as seeping from the speakers into the arena of my life’s activities.

Why would you want to evoke that feeling again? Was it not scary?

It was different.
