GNOME
I don't buy this criticism of iTunes. Yes, it uses non-standard widgets, and, yes, the UI could be better. But people love the iTunes interface. No other music player comes close in my experience of Windows, Mac and linux players. The progress of Gnome does sound exciting, though.
