JScript Closures

It doesn't strike me as all that intelligent to allow this sort of memory leaks from JScript. I understand the explained reason(s), but they fail to justify the issue.

What are closures?:

Read that last sentence again — the browser does NOT tear down circular references in page elements until the page is navigated away. Refreshing the page does not count as navigating away!
