Yellowcard

It’s taken me a few days to get around to sitting down to write about it, but Kat and I saw Yellowcard at The Middle East in Cambridge this past Sunday and it was a great show. They played an acoustic set which (sometimes surprisingly) worked really well with their songs. It had the feel of their acoustic “Sessions@AOL” EP, but with music spanning all the way from “One for the Kids” to last year’s “Paper Walls”. Highly recommended.

Opening for Yellowcard was Treaty of Paris (OK, but clashing with the vibe of an acoustic show) and PlayRadioPlay! (also clashing a bit, but they put on a really excellent show).

As a bonus, we stopped at Toscanini’s just before heading home (and oh my god is their Pale Wort flavor wonderful). The 5+ hour roundtrip drive was a bit much given that we both had things to be back for early on Monday morning, but it worked out.
