Prius

I picked up my brand new 2008 Prius on Friday, and from the first couple of days with it I can already say I love it. The hybrid system works noticeably better than the 2005 model I’ve driven, allowing me to accelerate faster and drive longer on just battery power before the engine starts.

Going into the buying process, I had been a bit overwhelmed. The whole thing went really smoothly, though, and I couldn’t be happier. I purchased the car from Northway Toyota in Latham, NY, just north of Albany. Vince LaValle at Northway was great throughout the process. He was helpful without ever being pressuring (he was upfront about being very hands-off), and got me the exact car I was looking for at a fair price. (Actually, he tried to get me a 2007, but delivered a 2008 at the same price instead.) I’m hoping to make a road trip to Maine in a couple of weeks to see friends and take some photos, and it’ll be a perfect opportunity to take the Prius out for some real time on the road and see how it performs.

I really want to upgrade to the 2008. Maybe I’ll just settle for a MacMini install.

Awesome - didn’t realise you were going to get one!

I’m soon to pick up one of these:

Has all sorts of BMW EfficiencyDynamics crap built in (which they stole from Toyota) which gives it CO2 emmissions of 128g/km.
