Bands and Beer

While enjoying some beer at the Dogfish Head brewpub in Rehoboth Beach yesterday, Tim had an amusing realization regarding the clothes (mainly tshirts and hats) that we wear:

We’ve basically traded bands for beer.

I realized that aside from things like underwear, socks, and my jeans, just about everything I had brought on our roadtrip to Deleware was beer related. He and I used to go to concerts all the time, used to revel in music, used to wear concert shirts all the time, and sit around talking about new bands, new albums, new discoveries. And now we do the exact same thing with beer — newly discovered styles and breweries, new favorites, and an appreciation of the endless complexity that seems possible when a craft brew really succeeds.

(Meanwhile, the trip to Dogfish Head was worthwhile, but highly confusing and more of a let down than what I was expecting from one of the best breweries in the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.)
