Over the River
I went to a talk by Christo and Jeanne-Claude on Friday night at Wheaton where they discussed their current work, Over the River: Project for the Arkansas River. They also discussed the history of some of their other projects, and the process of bringing something like Over the River to fruition.
Despite the (understandable) reaction Ben had to the entire Christo and Jeanne-Claude event (having to deal with the panic and chaos that preceded their arrival on campus after an over-booking of the event), I thought it was a really good lecture, and I was impressed by their apparent vision for their works. They were rather quirky at times (as you might expect), but also funny and entertaining.
