Surrounded…

My living room has become host to a gathering of cardboard boxes that seem to have materialized out of nowhere. They’re full of things that belong to the leaving roommate. I didn’t think there was enough room in the entire apartment for this much stuff, but there it is, a five and a half foot high testament to how wrong I was on that issue.

There’s also a D&D game raging in my living room that has just entered it’s thirteenth hour. I’ve been holed up in my room all day. Except for a couple of hours in which I escaped to the stereo store and started making plans to get a new stereo. I’ve got to go back with some music, and listen to all of it on very expensive speakers. Just in time, my vinyl collection will arrive by UPS some time next week.

Speaking of music, I can’t get enough of The Killers’ song “Change Your Mind.” Really, though, it’s not the entire song so much as the line “and love is blind.” The progression of notes in that line, and everything going on at that moment is simply perfect.

Maybe next time we can find a way to be more social so that we don’t keep you imprisoned in your room again. I’m guessing the D&D is going to be repeated this comming weekend, although there will be less in the way of boxes.

The whole geeky ordeal is concluded, 30 hours over two sessions later. But Greg, if you decide to go to CT, let me know. August is my “See the World” month.
