We made it through Texas! And it totally wasn’t as bad as everyone says. Yes, it was almost 900 miles from side to side. With the reverence and awe with which people talk about driving across Texas, however, I was expecting some sort of herculean ordeal which it wasn’t. It was just another (large) state with very little to see from the interstate. It gets better as you approach Louisiana, though: there are trees and rivers. Now for a few days in New Orleans. We’re staying a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street, so this should be tons of fun. I’ll try to upload some pictures before we leave for home on Saturday.
