Regarding TypeKey

October 19th, 2004 9:27 PM

If you post comments to this weblog, please consider signing up for a TypeKey account. When you have a TypeKey account and click the “sign in” link before commenting, your comment will show up immediately after posting; Comments posted without TypeKey now require my approval before showing up on the site, and may be subject to the whims of my schedule before they show up.

This is what the spam battle has come down to. I get a lot of comment spam, and moderating the comments is the only way that seems to keep them off the site. So if you post comments here, please please please sign up for TypeKey. It will make my life easier, and speed your comments on their way to being visible to the world.

not using typekey is an option, but what if me message rubs the editor the wrong way? then where would we be??

on a brighter note, after a heavy night of drinking, it is comforting to come home to one extra hour of sleep.

If your message rubs me the wrong way, I can remove it upon seeing it, just like I used to do with all comment spam. But at least there’s accountability in TypeKey.

And, yes, it is indeed nice to have the one extra hour.
