Libby wrote up our (Morten, Libby, and myself) thoughts on image annotation, including the geo-spatial stuff, and put it online at the ESW Wiki as “Simple Image Annotation.” The big difference here is the agreement on using ?img foaf:depicts cyc:SpatialThing-Localized for the place an image depicts, ?img dcterms:spacial cyc:SpatialThing-Localized for the place an image was taken, and ?img dc:coverage cyc:Event for the Event at which the photo was taken. (The dc:coverage predicate in the last of these is still up in the air a bit based on concerns of Morten’s.) This is a huge step forward, as far as I’m concerned, and I’m terribly happy I was able to be a part of the discussions at FOAF-Galway that lead to this; Thanks are in order to Libby and Morten for doing most of the heavy lifting here.
