Wow. Lauren, Mike, Gary and I went to Melisse for dinner tonight. I had no idea such a nice place was located in the area (11th and Wilshire in Santa Monica), and despite a rather noisy atmosphere, it had exceptional food and a fantastic price. And by “fantastic,” I mean “more money than I’ve ever paid for a meal before.” Including Spago and Watergrill. Our modest meals approached three figures each, but somehow seemed well worth the money. Everything about the meal (aside from waiting for the ever-late Gary) was perfect, and it was a great way to say goodbye.
