Weekend

Boats, Redondo Beach BoardwalkIt’s been a long weekend, in more ways than one. Lauren, Mike, Gary and I went to Naja’s on the Redondo Beach boardwalk on Friday night, and for a place that plays up “777 Imported Beers, 77 on Tap,” the selection completely sucked. The atmosphere was terrible, and I had to wait there for about half an hour while everyone else got there.

On Saturday night, I joined Gary at Father’s Office to see Kabir, who was down from the bay area for the weekend, and his college friends. Father’s is always a good time, but I punked out after the early drinking and ended up at home with a terrible headache while everyone else went bowling.

On Sunday, I went for a bike ride down the beach, but got cut short and ended up having a late lunch with Kabir and Dara at Mao’s Kitchen (which was excellent) in Venice. One of these days I’m really going to need to take this biking thing more seriously because I never seem to be doing enough of it.

This evening I went to the valley for my sister’s birthday. The drive out was thankfully light on traffic. It was surprisingly clear, and with about half an hour before the sunset, the visibility was terrific; The light and shadows on the mountains in every direction were amazing while driving down into the valley on the 405 and 101.

And since then, I’ve been digging back into my IMAP/RSS code, and seeing about cleaning up the API, writing some regression tests, and making another release. If I can stick with it this time, I think I’ll try to write a simple MySQL backend and, if that works out, think about releasing it to CPAN.

i thought you said there were no boats. although that photo depicts a marked lack of hookers. at least you didn’t lie to me about the hookers.

The boats were docked at the Redondo Beach boardwalk. There were no boats last night, nor was I on any of the boats on Friday.

Those boats and the hookers, like everything else, this remind me of Miami Vice. It’s as if Crockett’s Theme is playing right now… oh wait. It is, on Winamp.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, “more boat and/or hooker photos, if you can bring yourself to it”.

Hello there, I am interested in your RSS->IMAP code, although I cannot access the section of the website for lack of permission, i’ll be keeping at eye here to see if you fix it, thanks!
