Party

January 18th, 2004 3:37 AM

The same party, and the same people. The same scene and the same fallback to (in)security. The same me. The depths of my ability to fail tragically in reading people are boundless. I’m losing it again, slowly but surely. And I have no idea how to stop it.

Well, maybe that’s not true. My conscience, living in the frigid temperatures of the east coast, would tell me exactly how to stop it. But that seems so unthinkable. So impossible. So hard.

So very appealing.

I’m not sure I can do it.

Fear. Doubt.

Inertia.

You know I’m biased, but she’s offering you a couch! In the history of mankind, has a greater sleeping aid ever been constructed? If you don’t like couches, then unstock that fridge. Yeah, and if you take her up on the offer, I promise to enter the room like Kramer if I know you’re in there.

you’d have to stop drinking all that calorie rich beer to fit in my fridge.

Or like the joke about the elephant, be chopped up into little bits to fit in the fridge.
