I just realized that my thesis was completed and turned over to the Registrar just two days after Perl’s fifteenth birthday.

Oh. And LyX’s handling of margins sucks. And blows. I got through printing four copies (of 56 pages each) before I noticed that the margins were clearly not what LyX said they were. Several hours later after giving up on toying with LyX and resorting to just writing the LaTeX preamble myself, I printed a final version that became the Registrar’s copy since it was the only one with correct margins. Stupid.
