So, I’ve arrived in the Lehigh Valley. Simon and Shuli are here until they go to California, so I’ll be spending a week with them. And Becky is coming down for the weekend! Let’s hope we can come up with something interesting to do.
Getting here was fairly painless, except for the delay in Chicago due to the pouring rain in Newark. I flew United, and their new Easy-Checkin seems like an interesting idea (you check yourself in at a computer kiosk, with one employee handling bag check-ins for several of the kiosks), but unfortunately the computer wouldn’t let me check in, so I had to call an employee over anyway.
Oh, and I think constantly flying on Southwest has skewed my view of airplanes. I flew on a 747 from LA to Chicago, and all I can say is, “wow”. I had forgotten how big and loud a 747 is! After always flying 737s for the past several years, that 747 was a bit of a shock; it even felt more powerful…
So, Pennsylvania for the next week. We’ll see how it goes.
